At Jenne Academy of Martial Arts, we’re passionate about helping people unlock their full potential through fun, safe, and effective training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) and Jeet Kune Do (JKD). Whether you're stepping onto the mat for the first time or looking to expand your martial arts knowledge, our programs are designed to challenge and inspire students of all levels in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a grappling-based martial art that focuses on leverage, technique, and strategy. Known as “the gentle art,” BJJ empowers practitioners to neutralize larger opponents through skill and control, making it a powerful and practical system for self-defense and personal growth.
Jeet Kune Do, founded by Bruce Lee, is more than a martial art—it’s a philosophy of adaptability and efficiency. JKD blends striking, movement, and mindset into a fluid, customizable approach that encourages students to explore what works best for them, both in combat and in life.
At Jenne Academy of Martial Arts, we emphasize not just martial arts skills, but also mental clarity, emotional resilience, and confidence. Physically, our training boosts strength, agility, endurance, and overall fitness—all while making sure you're having fun and staying safe.
Come train with us and experience a martial arts journey that’s engaging and empowering. Whether your goals are self-defense, personal development, or just a healthier lifestyle, we’re here to support you every step of the way.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a martial art and combat sport that focuses on grappling, ground fighting, and submission holds. It was developed from traditional Japanese jiu-jitsu and judo, and it gained global prominence through the Gracie family in Brazil during the 20th century.
BJJ emphasizes taking an opponent to the ground and using technique rather than brute strength to control or submit them. This makes it particularly effective for smaller or weaker individuals.
The core philosophy is that a person can defend themselves successfully using leverage, proper technique, and body positioning — not size or power.
-
Jeet Kune Do (JKD) is a hybrid martial arts philosophy and system founded by Bruce Lee. Rather than being a fixed style like karate or judo, JKD is a flexible, evolving approach to combat that emphasizes efficiency, directness, and simplicity.
Bruce Lee described Jeet Kune Do as "the art of expressing the human body." It’s not about accumulating more techniques, but about stripping away the unnecessary. JKD draws from many sources (e.g., boxing, muay thai, fencing, wing chun, judo, karate, and the Filipino martial arts), but doesn’t seek to blend them into a rigid system.
“Absorb what is useful, discard what is not, add what is uniquely your own.” – Bruce Lee
